Fat B - Plastic Illusion
(Free New Beat Download)
The legend that is Fat Bastian has created a great new New Beat (!) track as a gift for Christmas - download link available here:

Also, check out his Soundcloud page, as he pretty much constantly comes out with classics in my opinion…

When I set up my Belgian New Beat group on Soundcloud 2 years ago, I seriously never thought there would be any ‘new’ New Beat tracks sent to it, and mainly I was just putting my New Beat mix up there hoping that people would upload old New Beat mixtapes etc. (which has happened a lot and that is great).
Right now there are 12 actual new tracks or remixes of New Beat classics in the group and 9 great New Beat mixes, including classic Boccaccio recordings - this is just to say thank you to everyone that has contributed to the group.

OldSchool Renegades - Early Hardcore Documentary - New Trailer
I’ve been proper excited about this since it was announced, especially as it seems that it will be placing a major emphasis on Belgian and Dutch (and therefore New Beat) influenced hardcore, which of course I like a lot.

Set Up System - Music And Noise
An even more concentrated distillation of fog, dry-ice, strobes and sweat I think…
Toxic Two - Rave Generator
a simple and in my opinion, brilliant classic track from 1991 - I always presumed this was a Belgian or Dutch 12” but apparently Damon Wild is American - very interesting…
Second Phase - Mentasm
probably where it all started
Praga Khan - Rave Alarm
A perfect example of Belgian New Beat lineage in hardcore… This type of sound is all over XL Recording’s wonderful The Second Chapter…
